I love to rise to a challenge so I agreed to quote on some enormous paper flowers for Australia Fashion Week. I reluctantly had to pull out - due to circumstances out of my control but benefited from the experience and loved the end result.
I was glad Gordon took some photos of me working because I don't think I've ever captured my work in progress. It's amazing what you can do with paper, a pair of scissors, card stock and a few packets of glue sticks!

I am desperate for the sun to shine here in Canberra for the Balloon festival on the weekend, it's not looking too promising at this stage. I will however get to the
Handmade Market, rain, hail or shine :-) Shop Handmade adopted this blossom today... Have a fabulous weekend!
**Update - 2nd July 2013**
I don't currently have a pattern or tutorial for this flower, I would like to do one when the time permits. I also can't reply to you by email if your blogger profile is set to no-reply blogger! Thanks for the lovely feedback on my flower.

Hi Rosalind! I just stumbled on your blog and I am amazed at how beautiful your giant paper flower turned out! I was trying to find out how to make this flower for my wedding! Its soooo beautiful...are you able to give a tutorial / tips on how to make it and what kind of paper and supplies I would need. You can send me an email if you would like to :D!
Thank you so much!
Krys
Beautiful! Can you please tell me how you made them?
My daughter wants me to make them for her wedding!!
Thank You,
Dee Dee
Your are my inspiration
these are beautiful...have you come up with any instruction/tutorial yet?
so beautiful. ant instruction/tutorials ?
I love your big rose....I want to do it.....I've made a lot of small ones....but I do'nt know how to do do A big big one.....
Are you still working on a tutorial or pattern? I would love it!
You can find the pattern on Martha Stewart's website and just blow it up for posters or have it printed at staples as an engineer print. It will be blurry but it wouldn't matter if you were just making a pattern for yourself out of it. Any smaller paper flower pattern could be done like this, really.
HI! I am trying to recreate a flower like this in the same large size for a wedding but I'm having trouble figuring out what size paper sheets you used and what weight you used. The largest sheets I have are 12x12 cardstock- what did you use? Your flower is beautiful! Thanks so much for your help!
Hi Jessica - the inside were probably around 110gsm or heavier? and the outer poster size (A1) are sheets of card not paper. I hope that helps, it was 3 yrs ago though!!
So beautiful this has given me inspiration for my wedding
