Love Lace Exhibition: Part One - Fashion

I highly recommend this exhibition if you get a chance to go.  On at Sydney's Powerhouse Museum until June.  This dress by Alexi Freeman and Tessa Blazey is made entirely from metal chain and jewellery components.  With some inspiration from my favourite era to boot!
It was hard to narrow down a favourite as this dress by Toni Maticevski was just gorgeous too.  Photos below: Marinco Kojdanovski via Powerhouse Museum.

Another stunner was this black Chantilly lace necklace made from wire and Swarovski crystals by Lenka Suchanek.  It was quite hard to photograph on my point and shoot, better photo here.  I was kicking myself for not taking the Nikon.
This piece is a fabulous interpretation of what someone from an underwater society would wear, made from PET bottles.  Designed and made by Rui Kikuchi from Japan.
Last but not least this amazing blue tin brooch by Melissa Cameron, Melbourne.  This was so intricate and lovely.  I came away feeling so inspired, there is really something for everyone - the kids LOVED the interactive Wiggles exhibition.  The fabulous thing about having a Questacon membership is the Powerhouse was free entry for us, otherwise a family of four was around thirty dollars.
