My Creative space - Macarons

I have packed up my sewing desk in the studio which housed all my hair accessory gear... so baking was the creativity of this week! I finally made Macarons! Not to be confused with Macaroons.

I was a little light handed on the colouring - they could have been pinker! Filled with white chocolate ganache - mmmm. I'm no Tartelette but man they were good and not bad for a first attempt I think! From this book. Oh and I piped them with a zip lock bag - snip the corner off and away you go!

More creative spaces over at Kirsty's.

Product Review - My Claire Rose

I bought these darling 'newborn booties' for Josiah before he was born from the lovely Natalie of My Claire Rose! He wore them home from hospital (they still fit him). They are gorgeous and soft, made from wool and bamboo. He also wore them to our friend's wedding in Brisbane last month... for a little while anyway, it wasn't really bootie weather - but looked ever so cute.

For the same wedding, I purchased a lovely burp cloth too as I didn't want to drag around the daggy white nappies we use at home! This cloth was a great width for catching puke and looked very stylish! Nat has some really lovely things in her shop and for GREAT prices! Even though I can sew and could have whipped up a burp cloth of my own I really appreciate being able to purchase well made items I don't have time to make myself. I don't think I really truly appreciated buying 'handmade' from other clever folk until I started doing the Handmade Market and running my own online stores!

My Creative space - paper and packing

A little something I am working on.... can't spoil the details just yet!

so pretty and fun to work with... stay tuned...

The other thing I am working on is this.... packing to move here to our very first home in less than two weeks! wooooooooooohooooooooooooo... the packing part isn't so much fun. Although it is good to purge and clean - we are downsizing which is fine by me and I have a terrific blank canvas inside to work with! More creative spaces here...

Wishing for this workspace

I love these white work stations with personality! I am losing an entire workroom in the move - ughh, possibly the only downside to moving. We have a study 'nook' but it will have the PC on hubby's workdesk - my laptop will probably live on the dining table but I am going to have to get creative with an actual work area. Don't you hate packing up after starting a project. I have to admit I have been VERY spoilt here.

Every since I was a little girl I used to draw house plans and allocate an entire room for my creating! I also used to want a Japanese garden but that has gone by the way side - he he.

Bows are back baby

I don't claim to be cutting edge when it comes to fashion and I may also be a little slow on the uptake but it seems bows are back!

I might have to add some bows to my collection real soon!

Free printable thread organisers

I found these cute little free downloads pictured above from Wild Olive on How about Orange! I am reluctantly packing up my craft supplies all but some work fabrics for the big move in a couple of weeks. I just printed out the PDF on card stock and away I went! I have to say I was actually inspired by my cousin Yana's new and tidy embroidery box! Don't you love the colour co-ordination?!

Now for storing my ribbons.... any suggestions?

My Creative Space - thank you cards

A little while back I purchased this cool stamp after seeing it on Decor8.

I was out of thank you cards and tried the stamp with both black & green ink (bottom left) but preferred the effect paint gave instead (top left). I am no stamping guru as you can clearly tell by my average stamping - but I say it all adds to the 'handmade' appeal right? I have no idea if the paint is really bad for my stamp? As long as I clean it well I am assuming it should be OK? Feel free to give me some advice!!

I also tried making my first stamp by carving a block of rubber (ezy carve printing block) I bought here. Do you recognise the emblem?

It still needs a bit of work! Oh and I will reveal what I made on last weeks MCS.... next week!

See what everyone else is making over at Kirsty's?

More wedding details...

Hannah and Phil are two stylish, laid-back, beautiful people (inside and out) and they make a very handsome couple don't you think!? The wedding was held in a truly picturesque part of Brisbane and their photos should be amazing!

Hannah's sister was bridesmaid and wore a beautiful dress made from two vintage patterns! The fabric was a floral silk and looked stunning!

The adorable flowergirls with their equally adorable outfits! I followed them for a photo after seeing the girls pop over to the horse paddock across the road from the reception hall pictured below. There was a fabulous laid back vibe and I was loving the 'smart casual' dress code since I am not quite back into my normal clothes!!

While the bride and groom were off having photos, guests entertained themselves with a game of Boccie, Badminton, Croquet or some photo booth fun. Josiah sported a feather boa while I wore a mustache - can't wait to see those photos! he he

No detail was spared inside the hall and while my photos really don't do it justice, the place looked fabulous. MS Pom Pom's, fairy lights and rows of fresh flowers in cute mis-matched glass jars ran down the centres of the banquet-style tables.

These cute 'love in bloom' packet of seeds were the wedding favours set at each place setting - (possibly from Martha Stewart weddings?) along with the cute name tags I posted yesterday.

This photo also does not do the bride justice but I just wanted you to see more of her stunning dress, made from crushed organza and the bodice was beaded lace!

I love a good wedding and this was certainly one of my favourites!

If you know the bride and groom please don't link these photos to facebook or re-publish anywhere else on the web as the couple are quite private but I do have permission to post them on my blog :-)
