Happy Easter

Happy Easter to you and your family!  We will be spending time with family, remembering Christ's sacrifice on the cross and celebrating his resurrection and all that means for us and hopefully creating some fun childhood memories for Anya and Josiah.  I hope your break is a special one x

Inspiration for the Home: Lark Wishlist

Lark have some amazing furniture and home wares in their online store, not just cutesy kids and party items!  Seems most of my favourite items are grey, yellow and made of metal.  These are the sorts of pieces I dream about thrifting and painting myself!!  The metal trolley would be ideal with books and plants for a small space (mini bar for parties)!  I love the locker - beside table too, oh so cool.
The wire pigeon hole shelf has a cube for all four of us here but I can imagine could get a bit messy, Anya's cube would be stuffed full of craft and 'treasures' :-)

Australian Homewares: Dandi

I saw this gorgeous Australian brand, Dandi at the Finders Keepers Market in Sydney last year after hearing about it through Daily Imprint.  Their bamboo range is my favourite, so smooth and lovely to touch.  I bought a side plate for a gift recently and nearly kept it! ha ha
The botanical-inspired designs take the functional bamboo pieces from great to gorgeous in my eyes.  This chopping board would make a beautiful wedding, anniversary or housewarming gift!  Their talents don't stop at woodwork though as the Dandi girls have a range of botanic napery and homewares to enjoy too.

Australian Designer: Gwendolynne Burkin

Did you see the Gwendolynne Burkin interview on The Design Files?  Ohhhh to-die-for gowns, so very, very pretty and designed and made in Melbourne.  The interview is very insightful too and Gwendolynne shares a lot about her career progress and the process it took to get there.  I felt very inspired after reading the interview but also had a momentary wave of wishing I had started a career in Millinery all those years ago!

Petal Hair Comb: Bridal Hair Accessories Canberra

I am really pleased with how this piece turned out.  Sometimes the nicest pieces come from accidents!  I had some individual petals made for a full flower but when I saw them layered flat on top of one another - it led to this idea! The sweet little appliqué is pre-made but all the beads have been hand-sewn on by me.  Would look lovely with or without a veil - listed in my etsy store.

Do you like the light grey background!  Finally a solution to photographing my light/ivory pieces!

Leather Goodies: BaliELF on Etsy

I have had my eyes on these for a while - beckoning my name they are.  Don't they look gorgeous and comfortable.  I am always nervous about buying shoes online when it comes to sizing.  I really would love to buy a pair of TOMS too, their company philosophy is awesome and they bring out such a variety of shoes - so frequently.
Gorgeous, gorgeous bag!  This is the L'Amour, looks just the right size for me.
Finally some 'riding' boots, I am hoping to finally find some longer brown boots this winter.  I noticed Canberra has a new boot store in town - woohoo!!  I will have to check it out in some child-free time. For now I am enjoying wearing strappy shoes until this warm weather ends.

For the Wall: Plan Poster Print for Two Dollars

This A1 print of my two lovelies cost me two dollars and five cents at my local Officeworks!  It is a 'plan print' mostly for architectural plans.  Not my own brilliant idea, I saw it on Pinterest!  The paper is thin but sturdy enough to be washi taped to the wall!  I did brighten it in Photoshop first as advised and if you look hard enough you can see a line running down the left of Josiah's head and one through his hair but it is no biggie to me.  This was just a quick casual photo I took on my bed - I love it!  Imagine covering a whole wall in these prints, oh the imagination runs wild.  This isn't even the biggest size! So cool!

Ed note 12th March:  The washi tape isn't strong enough to hold this up - I have added blu-tack under the washi tape for now and see how it goes.  It has a few wrinkles now as it came down overnight!  I think this paper would work well mounting it onto foam board with a spray adhesive - get two printed to try it!
