I was pretty excited to package up my first order today and put it in the post. I am also awaiting the arrival of my rubber stamp to enable me to do some cheap _just starting out_branding! I have wanted one for a while, for my cards. I found a great little company in Melbourne with wonderful customer service, www.dialastamp.com.au
I was saying the other day, I think about book page designs & what I can create next as I; drive my car, stand in supermarket queue, lie awake in the middle of the night and sometimes it's the first thing I think of when I rise and the last thing I think about when I go to bed. **sigh**
I feel more fulfilled when I am learning new things, my hands are busy and generally enjoying the creative talent God has given me. My Nanna tells the story of when she would call us when we were little and Mum would call me to come and speak to Nanna on the phone, but I would say, "Tell her I am busy"! I have been 'into' making stuff ever since I was a wee lass.
There is no surprise I guess that my first job ever was in a creative industry - Floristry. Once a florist, always a florist! I am just careful of who I tell - I don't really want to be doing my work-mate's, neighbours, 2nd cousin's wedding flowers anymore.
Anyway, today was a good day! I think I might just order myself some MOO stickers.

Book 2 "India" - 1st Order
This book is for India, I hope she enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it. Each page has something interactive or fun to look at. Velcro flowers in a vase, buttons on the apple tree (one of my favourite pages) and finally something has a ZIPPER! I make each book with great enthusiasm and while each stitch may not be perfect, that all ads to the charm I say.
My first order!
I sent a few girlfriend's an email to show them my first attempt at a book and next thing you know I had 5 orders! That was unexpectant! I really love making each one unique and especially with a little person in mind. This is a huge improvement on the original book, although I am still working out my measurements and consider these early ones prototypes :-) so much fun.
Each book has recycled material that could tell their own stories! Some pieces belonging to relatives or scraps I found in my sewing box. The button on Raya's book was off an old crochet cardigan I had - I wore it on stage when I sang with a band once! Fun times.

Mobile - baby gift
This mobile was actually the first thing I made, thanks to Tara Dennis' website. I decided to get out the old sewing gear, buy some felt and away I went. I was given a refresher of how to do a blanket stitch on U-tube (got to love it)! the mobile turned out great and my daughter loves looking at it while I change her nappy. I might have to call it "Tara".
